Disneyland! 迪斯尼乐园!

Went to Disneyland today! =D

Woke up bright and early, took the car there.

There were several parking structures and we parked at Daisy.

Disney Resort in Anaheim, Orange consists of Disneyland and California Adventure Park. We bought the ticket from UCLA and got the 1-Day Park Hopper for USD 67. Which is nearly SGD 100 =S *gasp* But getting the ticket from Disneyland itself will cost us USD 91 for the same type of ticket. *GASP* So thank goodness we managed to get the tickets at USD 67!

Here's the entrance of California Adventure Park.

Toy Story Astro Blasters. And Buzz Lightyear telling you the story behind the ride but none of us stopped to listen.

Anyway, for popular rides at Disney we can get FASTPASS tickets, where a period of time is printed on the ticket and we have to return again later, skipping the queue. It's really great, we saved a lot of time thanks to FASTPASS.

A very popular ride, Space Mountain. But it's damn nice. Haha. In actual fact you take the coaster and venture into darkness. HHAHAHAHAAHA. Really! You can just see walls of lighted bulbs depicting stars, as if you're taking the coaster into space. It was very cooling too.

Star Tours is another ride that we took, I think it was alright that I can't remember what happened in it. I think it was a simulator ride.

So those were all at Tomorrowland since they seemed like things of the future. Then I wonder when things of tomorrow become things of today, what will they put in Tomorrowland?

The Sleeping Beauty Castle in the day. Looks like a huge castle like what you see in pictures but in fact it is really quite small.

I was posing for this picture and then suddenly a bunch of PRC uncles walked past and they were asking each other, '她想吃什么啊?' Oh c'mon.

This is for Felix since he likes Dale. Or was it Chip.

There were many different areas in Disneyland, like Tomorrowland, Fantasyland (where the Disney princesses are), Frontierland, Adventureland, Toontown, Critter Country... ... ...

We took a Jungle Boat ride at Adventureland driven by this cold-humoured 'captain'. His jokes were lame but I thought they were really funny! I was the only one who was totally amused. Something about the way he talked I guess. =P The sarcasm.

He was like, 'Oh here are the elephants! Let me check them for you. *pauses and looks at the elephants* Okay, they have their trunks on!' Muahahhahaha.

The Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Nothing exciting, really.

The ride was just bringing you through the stories of the Pirates of the Caribbean and my the robot human figures were really lifelike. And Jack Sparrow really looked like Johnny Depp! Scary.

The haunted mansion. Nothing much also la. Haha. Disneyland is family-based.

Lunch. We three girls shared this turkey club sandwich.

Dumbo.

Sleeping Beauty and her Prince Charming.

Mary Poppins.

Main Street USA.

The enormous 'snow' globe in the middle of the Disney souvenir store.

Belle from Beauty and the Beast. She was quite snobby from what I see. HAHAHA. And the thing is, little girls and boys go to these characters and ask them for their autographs. Like erm, what do they sign? Hahahaha

And we trotted over to California Adventure Park.

A replica of the Golden Gate Bridge

And we got to take pictures with Pluto and Minnie.

If you didn't look at it properly you may think that the road goes on but actually further down the buildings are painted. The sky is obviously painted. Haha.

Sulley from Monsters, Inc.

The Hollywood Tower was an extreme ride. It's like you sit in what was supposed to be an elevator and you go down and up and down and up. And you really get dropped that if you didn't hold on to your bag, it'll just 'float' up. -_- And so my bag blocked my view. HAHAHA. It was based on some ghost story la, that's why you see the words lurking in the background.

And Aladdin and Jasmine and the Genie.

The roller coaster with the Mickey Mouse shape was a roller coaster called 'California Screamin'' It was damn fun! HAHAA.

Oh, and a breakthrough. CY and DJ got on the rides with us! I took most of the rides with DJ so it was particularly entertaining looking at her expressions. =P Hahahaha no laaaaa! She was reaally calm.

And it was the Disney-Pixar Parade!!! =D We got there late, so I guess I probably missed the Cars one =( I wanted to see if there's Fillmore.

And this Toy Story guy just kept swinging and swinging and swinging.

And this character from Cars marked the end of the parade.

After that we went back to Disneyland for the Parade of Dreams.

Opening dance number

Winnie the Gay Bear Pooh and friends.

Some kid let go of the balloon!

Pardon the glare =( I was sitting right in front of the sun. Lousy position. But at least I managed to sit in front.

The Sorcerer and Fairy Godmothers.

Tinkerbell leading the parade.

Next up, Beauty and the Beast. It was a different Beauty this time round I think. I wonder how many there are.

Pinocchio.

The Little Mermaid.

And the witch from The Little Mermaid. Humongous.

Alice In Wonderland.

And then I saw wild animals.

WILD ANIMALS??

No...Noo....this can't be......................

YEAYYYYYY IT'S THE LION KING!!!!!!!!!

Muahahhaa.

For some reason the Lion King float was at our area for quite some time. And so I get to take lots of pictures heh heh heh and I thought I'd control myself by uploading just a handful among them. =P

Next up, the princesses.

Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Cinderella, you name it.

Finally saw Mickey.

After the parade we continued to walk around.

And we took the Winnie the Pooh ride. It was hilarious la! As in, compared to all our previous rides, this was the 'nicest'. Really meant for kids aged 3 and below. Hahaha. It was so calm and so cartoon I couldn't believe I was on the ride.

Then we rushed to Autopia which has a long queue. It was essentially sth like go-kart. Just that the cars work with an engine. Like there's an accelerator you have to press.

And Autopia caused us to be late for the fireworks display =( So we didn't manage to get any good spots.

The Sleeping Beauty Castle, at night.

The Sleeping Beauty Castle, post-fireworks.

Main Street USA at night. In the foreground on the right is the statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse.

The public road is really called Magic Way. So cute.

The only souvenirs I brought back with me for mum and sis. I regret not getting the pressed coins!

We really spent the entire day here: we left LA at 6 am plus, reached Anaheim at 8 am plus, played till nearly 10 pm plus and reached our apt really late. =S

What a way to spend the day =)
