Day 6, 24062008, Los Angeles
First and only lesson of the day: Development of Jazz.
The lecturer is Charley Harrison, who is a composer/arranger of jazz music. I think my lecturers are pretty cool. Like they're active in the circle themselves.
Mr. Harrison is a guitarist and he's also the band director of the UCLA Jazz Orchestra. He is from Chicago and plays in the Chicago Jazz Orchestra.
And I got my jazz textbook, it's like USD 62.79 after tax. -_- It's already a used book. So the CD that's supposed to be inside is not inside. The new book sells for USD 77+.
John, Ivan and I went to Westwood Music (it was a damn long walk) to get our guitars. The two guys bought acoustic guitars, I got a classical one (save my fingers!).
Mine's a Sunlite GCN-1600S. They say it's good!
I got it for USD 126.64 with the guitar bag and a set of strings and a polishing cloth.
I'll come back as a pro! Yea right. I can sense that so many people in my class already play the guitar lo. So irritating. I'm having quite a tough time in a way that my class progresses quite fast.
Never mind, I'll still be able to make it! Get A+! HAHAHAHA.
By the way, in order to get A+ for the jazz module, I must get 100 marks. Like how can I achieve that?
